- Network Information: WiFi status, signal strength, frequency, IP address, and connection type. This is core to the app's functionality.
- Location Data: Coarse and Fine location permissions are required by the Android system to access WiFi SSID and signal details. We use this strictly to display network information to you.
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and technical identifiers needed for crash reporting and compatibility.
- Diagnostics Data: Signal stability and performance metrics used locally to analyze your network quality.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information solely to:
- Display real-time network signal metrics and tools.
- Troubleshoot technical issues (via crash logs).
- Optimize app performance for different devices.
We do not sell your personal data or browsing history to third parties.
3. App Permissions
SignalScope requests the following sensitive permissions:
Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION)
Required by Android to read WiFi SSID and BSSID. The app does not track your physical movement history.
Network State
Required to detect connection changes and signal quality.
4. Third-Party Services & Ads
The App may use third-party services for advertising and analytics, specifically:
- Huawei Ads / HMS Core: May utilize the Advertising Identifier (OAID) to serve personalized ads.
- Crash Analytics: To identify and fix application failures.
5. Data Retention & Security
Data is processed primarily on your device. Any transient data used for analytics is retained only as long as necessary. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect against unauthorized access.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Disable Location permissions in device settings (though some app features may stop working).
- Reset your Advertising ID (OAID) in device privacy settings to opt-out of personalized ads.
